Turkey Update

Hi Calvary Family,

As we continue to pray for our friends in Turkey, the Lord has opened a door for us to send teams to aid in the relief effort. Please pray for those working and for those called to go. Maybe the Lord is calling you?

We are currently opening up the opportunity for workers to help with earthquake relief in Antakya, Turkey. In the aftermath of recent devastating earthquakes, workers are needed to bring relief to many who are suffering. There is a great need for manual labor (helping with distribution, and construction of temporary housing. Those skilled in trades (plumbing, electrical) would be a great help but all workers are an asset.

One of our friends recently traveled to Antakya to help set up several temporary housing containers that can accommodate 8-10 relief workers each. A site has been established to receive teams and distribute goods.

The need is great. With 10,000 aftershocks since the massive quake, people in the city are wary about going into any standing structure. Displaced citizens are dwelling in tents in parks, roundabouts, and on basketball courts, etc. Wall tents are being purchased and erected for those in need.

Workers can fly into Adana, about a two hour drive from Antakya. We are ready now to receive teams. Some coordination up front is needed to make sure we don't overrun any one relief distribution zone. There is a network of relief sites that can accommodate.

Those interested in joining a relief team should contact Pastor Ted at ted.ccbozeman@gmail.com. Funds to be used for a relief trip and for the purchase of tents, food, blankets, to be distributed on these trips can be donated to Calvary Chapel Bozeman. Funds to be used for immediate relief can be donated to Christar.org.

Antakya (present day Antioch) is a city of great biblical importance. It was originally the sending place of the gospel to the ends of the earth. Believers were first called Christians at Antioch. We are trusting the Lord will use these events to bring the gospel in power back to this city.

Thank you!
